The Art House, Primrose Hill
When our clients first discovered The Art House, it was a captivating time capsule, a testament to the life and work of artist Richard Beer. For over four decades, the house had been both cherished and overlooked, its rooms filled with a lifetime's accumulation of trinkets and curiosities that fuelled his artistic vision. Collaborating with Sandoval Architects, we embarked on a journey to transform this historic space into a contemporary family home, blending statement bespoke joinery with the building's inherent period charm.
The kitchen, a focal point of the renovation, was designed as a contemporary interpretation of the classic shaker style. Racing green fluted doors and ceiling-hung steel shelves, a bold contrast to the traditional aesthetic, emphasize the dramatic double-height basement space. Every detail, from hand milled wardrobe doors to carefully restored shutters, was meticulously considered to create a home that is both functional and visually stunning.
