A Collector’s Home
Our Clients were captivated by the generous proportions and hints of period detail in this faded Victorian townhouse, and recognising its potential, they engaged us to restore its former elegance. The property, a rare six-bedroom detached home, had undergone a refurbishment 15 years prior, but had since suffered from neglect and lacked cohesive design.
We revitalised the interior by replacing the heavily scratched black flooring with lighter timber, removing the worn Venetian plaster, and dramatically brightening the space and restoring its inherent warmth.
For more than a decade, our Clients had amassed an impressive collection of Indian art. The open-plan reception and dining room provided the perfect gallery-like backdrop, allowing these treasured pieces to take centre stage and complete their vision of a vibrant, elegant family home
“We are delighted with our new home – it has turned out beyond our expectations, and it would not have been possible without Victoria’s vision and help. We have recommended Victoria to friends and would highly recommend Victoria to anyone looking for an interior designer.”
To enhance the flow and grandeur of the existing hall, French-style doors were introduced within an existing archway, creating a welcoming entrance lobby. The original staircase, a key feature, was meticulously restored and painted off-black, showcasing its intricate detail. On the lower ground floor, two smaller rooms were combined to create a spacious family room, and the existing kitchen was refreshed with new doors and marble worktops.
