A Scandi Modern Home

In collaboration with Sandoval Architects, we brought an industrial-minimalist aesthetic to life at Hay House, a terraced house in the heart of Clapham which was fully extended and refurbished to suit a young couple with two daughters.

The large basement space was a key addition, with an integrated lightwell to maximise light. The basement was designed on modular proportions, either as a fully open party space, or enclosed to become a series of modules, including home study, a gym, and family cinema room.

Bespoke black steelwork, echoing the graphic lines of the Crittall glazing, seamlessly integrates the architecture with the interior joinery. Warm wood veneers, plush velvets, and subtle pops of colour soften the stark industrial elements, creating a balanced and inviting atmosphere.

This project has been featured in KBB Magazine.

Victoria was great to work with on our project. She delivered an end product that pulled together the various requirements we had and struck a careful balance between allowing us to run away with our thinking and ensuring the individual design details came together as a whole.

Victoria not only presented colours and shapes we’d not thought about but would be equally enthused by styles we’d found she’s perhaps not used before. We felt that we could be open and honest with Victoria about what we like and dislike, and she really took that on board to create a series of designs that we absolutely love.

Key features include a hidden cocktail bar, an integrated study with a floating desk, a striking steel credenza, and a Scandinavian-inspired bespoke kitchen.

The interplay of natural materials and industrial elements creates a dynamic and ever-changing ambiance, beautifully enhanced by the shifting angles of natural light.
